2009 Program Includes Expanded Training Opportunities

WASHINGTON, D.C. (March 20, 2009) — The National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) and National Insurance Producer Registry (NIPR) today opened registration for the 10th Annual NAIC/NIPR E-Regulation Conference, to be held April 27–29, 2009, at the Westin Crown Center in Kansas City, Mo. Online registration is conveniently located at www.naic.org/ereg.

The conference provides the insurance regulatory and industry communities the opportunity to explore the latest technology trends and initiatives affecting insurance regulation today. Attendees can choose from five tracks: producer licensing; rate and form filing; market regulation; company licensing; and information technology.

New for 2009!

Several pre-conference training opportunities are available on Monday, April 27, for attendees new to their position within their organization, new to insurance regulation in general, or looking for opportunities to refresh their skills in a particular area. Pre-conference sessions are included in the registration fee. A complete listing of these training sessions is posted within the conference agenda at www.naic.org/ereg.

To accommodate increased pre-conference training opportunities, the conference will kick off at a later time this year (3:30 p.m.). A keynote panel will address the latest insurance regulatory topics, including producer licensing, market regulation and speed-to-market. Keynote panelists will be: NAIC President and New Hampshire Insurance Commissioner Roger Sevigny, Alaska Insurance Director Linda Hall and Ohio Insurance Director Mary Jo Hudson.

The 10th annual conference continues to feature the latest information on key NAIC membership initiatives and technology solutions; hands-on training and informative roundtable discussions; opportunities to learn about business partner offerings; access to state producer licensing, company licensing, market analysis, and rate and form filing staff; and much more.

The Westin Crown Center is located two blocks from the NAIC’s Kansas City office, connected by a climate-controlled walkway called “The Link.” The area includes attractions such as the Liberty Memorial, Union Station, downtown, the Power and Light District, the Country Club Plaza, and nearby theaters and dining.
