NAIC SEEKS EDITOR FOR JOURNAL
WASHINGTON, D.C. (Nov. 4, 2009) — The National
Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) is seeking an editor
for its Journal of Insurance Regulation (JIR), which
provides high-quality research and offers a variety of perspectives
on insurance regulatory and public policy issues.
The JIR editor will solicit articles from potential authors and
collect outside reviews of material published elsewhere that might
be of interest to readers. For each issue, the editor is responsible
for writing the “Editor’s Perspective,” compiling the table of
contents and drafting a biographical statement on each author. The
editor ensures the overall accuracy of the content and works closely
with the NAIC staff person who reviews each article for grammar,
punctuation and style. Some travel is required, including attendance
at no less than one NAIC national meeting and one JIR Board meeting
annually.
Individuals interested in this position should complete the
questionnaire located at http://tiny.cc/OG5vW by Nov. 30,
2009.
Those individuals chosen to proceed to the second round of the
application process will be sent a request for proposal (RFP).
Following receipt of the RFPs, the NAIC will evaluate the candidates
and announce the chosen individual. The term of this appointment
will be for one year, with an option to renew the appointment on an
annual basis.
