2010 NAIC/NIPR E-REG CONFERENCE KICKS OFF IN KANSAS
CITY
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (May 3, 2010) — More than 550
insurance regulators and industry representatives are in Kansas City
to attend the 11th annual E-Reg Conference sponsored by the National
Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) and National Insurance
Producer Registry (NIPR).
The conference began today with a keynote forum featuring NAIC
President and West Virginia Commissioner Jane L. Cline, Alaska
Insurance Director Linda S. Hall and Kansas Insurance Commissioner
Sandy Praeger.
The regulators provided an overview of key
NAIC membership priorities and initiatives, the Congressional and
legislative landscape for 2010, the international impact on U.S.
state-based insurance and the Patient Protection and Affordable Care
Act.
Attendees at the E-Reg Conference get the latest information on
topics in producer licensing, company licensing, rate and form
filing, market regulation and information technology. This year, the
conference also includes sessions on federal legislation related to
insurance regulation, health care reform, systemic risk in insurance
and climate change.
