FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
NAIC SEEKS EDITOR FOR JOURNAL OF
INSURANCE REGULATION
WASHINGTON, D.C. (Feb. 4, 2013) — The National
Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) is seeking applicants for the
editorship of the Journal of Insurance Regulation
(JIR), its peer review publication for opinion and
discussion of major regulatory and public policy issues in insurance. The JIR
provides state insurance departments, industry and other parties
cutting-edge, high-quality research on topics in the regulation
arena. Typical articles include opinion pieces, in-depth legal
studies, economic analyses, public policy analyses and empirical studies.
The editor of the JIR solicits articles from potential authors
concerning all aspects of insurance regulation, as well as outside reviews
of material published elsewhere that may be interesting to subscribers. The
editor works closely with the authors, a peer review board and NAIC staff
to complete an issue for publication. The editor is responsible for writing
an Editor's Perspective for the annual issue, table of contents and an
author biographical statement per article. This position may require
some travel, including attendance at no less than one NAIC national meeting
annually.
Interested individuals should send an email to jireditor@naic.org to express
interest. The NAIC will evaluate the candidates and announce the chosen
individual. Questions may be directed to Renee Brownfield, Publication
Sales & Production Manager at rbrownfield@naic.org.
