The Working Group has been formed to assure that the recommendations made in the March 2006 “Workers’ Compensation Large Deductible Study” (the Study) are properly completed. The Study presented 17 recommendations to aid in resolving many of the concerns and demonstrated problems that states have experienced with large deductible insurance. Of special note among the recommendations were the following:
- Consider amending the NAIC model law Third Party Administrator (TPA) Statute to extend it to workers’ compensation claims.
- Develop approval guidelines for large deductible policies and endorsements.
The Working Group has been drafting a revised TPA Statute and Large Deductible Form Filing Guidelines. |
