Risk Retention Group Task Force
Financial Condition (E) Committee

The Risk Retention Group Task Force is considering what accreditation standards should apply to Risk Retention Groups (RRG) chartered under captive laws.

2012 Charges

  1. Monitor and evaluate the work of other NAIC committees, task forces and working groups related to risk retention groups (RRGs). Specifically, if any of these changes affect the NAIC Financial Regulation and Accreditation Standards Program, assess whether and/or how the changes should apply to RRGs.

  2. Work with captive states and RRG examiners to develop best-practices that may be considered when performing risk-focused examinations of RRGs.

  3. Monitor and analyze federal actions, including the Government Accountability Office report that is anticipated to be completed and released in December 2011. Consider any action necessary as a result of the report.
