Interstate Compact National Standards (EX) Working Group

The Interstate Compact National Standards (EX) Working Group met on Saturday, September 29, 2007.
During this meeting, the Working Group:
- Received a report from the Disability Subgroup on its development of application standards. John Rink (NE) chairs the Disability Subgroup and plans to continue to have conference calls every other Tuesday alternating with the Long-Term Care Subgroup. The subgroup anticipates having a standard to adopt at the 2007 NAIC Winter National Meeting.
- Received a report from the Annuities Subgroup on its work. Brad Harker (PA) chairs the subgroup and plans to have conference calls every other Wednesday alternating with the Life Subgroup. The subgroup plans to begin work on a “core” standard to which different product features can be added.
- Received a report from the Long-Term Care Subgroup and its progress toward the development of initial rate standards. Peg Ising (OH) chairs this subgroup and plans to have conference calls every other Tuesday, alternating with the Disability Subgroup.
- Received a report from the Life Subgroup on its development of standards. Malinda Shepherd (KY) chairs the subgroup and plans to hold conference calls on Wednesdays alternating with the Annuities Subgroup. This subgroup plans to finish work on Standards for Mortality Table Change on its October 10, 2007 conference call and begin work on group standards. The work on group standards will begin with employer groups, but the intent is to develop standards for all kinds of groups.
