Operational Efficiencies (EX) Working Group
Conference Calls

The Operational Efficiencies (EX) Working Group met via conference calls July 23, and August 6, 2007, to review the July 11, 2007 draft of Chapter Five to the Product Filing Examiners Handbook. During the two conference calls the Working Group agreed to various changes which produced a September 11, 2007 draft of Chapter Five.

September 17, 2007, the Working Group discussed and made changes to the September 11, 2007, draft of Chapter Five and adopted a motion approving Chapter Five of the Product Filing Examiners Handbook.

The Working Group discussed the need to submit suggestions for Speed to Market Tools by December 1, 2007. The Working Group will then consider revisions during the 2008 Spring National Meeting for implementation effective Jan. 1, 2009.

Suggestions thus far have included some formatting and missing Type of Insurance (TOI) codes in the Life, Accident and Health, Annuity and Credit Coding Matrix. The Property and Casualty Product Coding Matrix, available on the website, has been revised to include comments related to coding issues. Comments were added specifically indicating that the SERFF TOI codes do not match directly to the Annual Statement line codes for occurrence and claims-made policies for Medical Malpractice, Other Liability and Product Liability.

Conference call minutes of July, 23, 2007 and August 6, 2007 were adopted by the Working Group.

The Working Group will schedule a conference call for the first part of October 2007 to begin reviewing the Product Filing Examiners Handbook from the beginning and establish a work plan
