The Market Analysis Priorities (D) Working Group met on Sunday, March 30, 2008.
During this meeting, the Working Group:
- Reviewed the 2008 Charge and Tasks for the Market Analysis Priorities (D) Working Group. The 2008 tasks include:
- Reviewing the market analysis portions of the Market Regulation Handbook and submitting recommendations to update areas where information is no longer current or correct.
- Adding new language to the Market Regulation Handbook regarding how to perform baseline analysis.
- Using best practices identified by the Market Analysis Priorities (D) Working Group from the Market Analysis survey conducted in July 2007, develop new language for the Market Regulation Handbook regarding how to develop an effective Department of Insurance Market Analysis Division.
- Reviewing the statutory annual statement and submitting recommended data elements that would enhance the market analysis process.
- Reviewing and submitting recommended changes to the Market Conduct Annual Statement’s (MCAS) definitions.
- Reviewing and approving recommendations regarding the market analysis tools once approved by the Market Analysis Research Development Focus Group (MARD).
- The Working Group received an update from the Market Analysis Research & Development (MARD) Focus Group.
- The Working Group received an update regarding the transition of the Market Conduct Annual Statement (MCAS) from Ohio to the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC).
- The Working Group received a report regarding complaint handling and reporting standards.
