The NAIC/State Government Liaison Committee met Sept. 21, 2009. During this meeting, the Committee:

Received an overview from Therese M. Vaughan (NAIC Chief Executive Officer) on the purpose and goals of the NAIC Center for Insurance Policy and Research (CIPR).

Discussed the National Insurance Supervisory Commission (NISC) proposal. Legislators and regulators agreed to hold a summit on NISC to further discuss concerns and develop the proposal.

Received an update on federal legislation regarding insurance from Moira Campion (NAIC).
