The Profitability (C) Working Group met Nov. 17, 2009 via regulator-to-regulator conference call pursuant to item 3 of the NAIC Policy Statement on Open Meetings. During this meeting, the Working Group:

• Reviewed the results of the Report on Profitability By Line By State in 2008, as well as feedback received from other states. The Working Group decided to again gain a wider scope of input by inviting members and interested regulators of the Casualty Actuarial and Statistical (C) Task Force as well as all chief financial regulators to review the draft report for anomalies in their states. The Working Group adopted the report, with the final publication expected to be publicly available in early December 2009.
• During the upcoming year, the Profitability (C) Working Group plans to begin discussions on expanding the lines of business reported within the Report. The Working Group will also examine the use of Premium Deficiency Reserves in the calculations.
