Winter 2009 Meeting Summaries Index

The Market Analysis Procedures (D) Working Group met via conference call Nov. 12, 2009. During this meeting, the Working Group:

  • Discussed a process for tracking and implementing suggested changes to the Complaints Database System. The new procedures would include an online form to capture suggested changes, and the creation of a workgroup to review the suggestions and make recommendations to the Working Group for final approval. Comments will be received until Nov. 25.
  • Discussed prioritized lists of new lines of business and data elements to be included in the current Market Information Systems applications. Comments on these lists will be received until Nov. 25.

The Working Group also met via conference call Oct. 15, 2009. During this meeting, the Working Group:

  • Discussed a priority list of new lines of business recommended to be added to the Market Analysis Systems. The Working Group also heard a presentation from Birny Birnbaum (Center for Economic Justice—CEJ) recommending the collection of transactional-level data through the Market Conduct Annual Statement.
  • Voted to eliminate the automatic e-mail generated by the Markets Analysis Review System following an analyst’s choice of the recommendation to contact the Collaborative Action Designee of other states with similar concerns regarding possible collaborative action.
