Winter 2009 Meeting Summaries Index

The Market Conduct Examination Standards (D) Working Group did not meet at the Winter National Meeting. Instead, the Working Group held two interim conference calls Oct. 8 and Nov. 12.

During the Nov. 12 conference call, the Working Group:

  • Adopted the minutes of the Oct. 8 conference call.

  • Discussed revisions to Section M. External Review of Chapter 20—Conducting the Health Examination of the Market Regulation Handbook.

  • Discussed additional information received regarding the definition of risk-focused approach to market conduct examinations.

  • Discussed recommendations for Working Group tasks in 2010.

During the Oct. 8 conference call, the Working Group:

  • Adopted revisions to Chapter 18—Conducting the Title Insurance Company and Title Insurance Agent Examination for inclusion in the Market Regulation Handbook.

  • Adopted revisions to Chapter 16—General Examination Standards for inclusion in the Market Regulation Handbook. The revisions were in regard to workers’ compensation.

  • Adopted revisions to Chapter 17—Conducting the Property and Casualty Examination for inclusion in the Market Regulation Handbook. The revisions were in regard to workers’ compensation and claim adjuster licensing review procedures.

  • Adopted a revision to Marketing and Sales Standard 9 of Chapter 19—Conducting the Life and Annuity Examination for inclusion in the Market Regulation Handbook. The revision was in regard to inserting missing text.

  • Adopted a revision to Placement, Cancellation and Nonrenewal Standard 4 of Chapter 24—Conducting the Surplus Lines Broker Examination for inclusion in the Market Regulation Handbook. The revision was in regard to inserting missing text.
