The Climate Change and Global Warming (EX) Task Force met Dec. 8, 2009. During this meeting, the Task Force:

  • Examined a Climate Risk Survey transmittal prototype in the survey tool Zoomerang.
  • Reviewed the draft list of insurer groups, based off calendar year 2008 direct written premium, that will be required to submit the Climate Risk Survey in 2009.
  • Reviewed a draft Climate Risk Survey notification letter for the states to send to insurers.

In addition, the Task Force will host a Climate Risk Summit Dec. 9. The Summit will include four sessions on various climate-related topics: Climate Change and Investments, Climate Science and Risk Modeling, Evolving “Green” Insurance Options, and Transparency and Disclosure of Climate-Related Risks.
