The Producer Licensing (EX) Task Force met Dec. 7, 2009. During this meeting, the Task Force:

  • Discussed the business entity licensing process and how this process might be simplified. The Task Force focused its discussion on the elimination of licensing business entities by line of authority and the appointment process for business entities.

  • Received an update from the Producer Licensing Coalition, which reported on its discussion of the National Insurance Supervisory Commission discussion draft, the future producer licensing outreach efforts and the activities of the NARAB (EX) Working Group.

  • Received an update on status of the NAIC/NIPR Attachments Warehouse for the reporting of actions.

  • Adopted the report of the NARAB (EX) Working Group, which has received 12 state reciprocity checklists and posted them to the NAIC Web site for interested parties to review.

  • Adopted the report of the Producer Licensing (EX) Working Group, which presented the Task Force with a memo regarding the definition of the “ancillary line of authority.” The Task Force provided further direction for the Working Group to develop the licensing requirements appropriate for the “ancillary line of authority” and the “core limited lines.”
