RIRS is a nationwide database containing final, adjudicated regulatory actions against insurance or non-insurance entities and includes both licensed and non-licensed entities. This system enables state insurance regulators to track the regulatory history of individuals and entities affiliated with the insurance industry.

To be considered actively participating in Regulatory Information Retrieval System (RIRS) – a state has submitted at least one RIRS record to be entered into the NAIC database within the last 12 months.

NOTE - Effective June 2005:  To be considered actively participating in Regulatory Information Retrieval System (RIRS) – a state has submitted at least one loadable RIRS record in a non-paper format where the regulatory action date is within the last 90 days.  If no regulatory actions were taken during a 90 day period, the state will send notification to mktdata@naic.org.
