The Uniform Certificate of Authority Application process is designed to allow foreign insurers to file copies of the same application for admission in numerous states. While each Uniform State still performs its own independent review of each application, the need to file different applications, in different formats, has been eliminated for all states that accept the uniform application.

To be considered actively participating in Uniform Certificate of Authority Application -  a State's Commissioner agrees to accept the UCAA process for their state's company licensing approval, and the state has submitted the required data to the NAIC that will allow them to activate the Primary and Expansion Applications.
