Members of the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) elected the following 2019 officers during its Fall National Meeting:

President: Maine Insurance Superintendent Eric A. Cioppa

President-Elect: South Carolina Insurance Director Raymond G. Farmer

Vice President: Hawaii Insurance Commissioner Gordon I. Ito

Secretary-Treasurer: Idaho Insurance Director Dean L. Cameron

The newly elected officers will assume their duties on Jan. 1, 2019.

More than 300 insurance regulators, consumer representatives and industry stakeholders discussed factors that go into health care costs during an event coordinated by the National Association of Insurance Commissioners' (NAIC) Center for Insurance Policy and Research (CIPR). "Rising Health Care Costs, Key Drivers and Potential Solutions" was held in conjunction with the NAIC's Fall National Meeting.

2018 was a busy year for natural disasters. Regulators were actve in assisting displaced residents, by providing information, processing claims and doing whatever else they needed.
