FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE NAIC NAMES
2008 CONSUMER LIAISON REPRESENTATIVES KANSAS CITY, Mo. (Feb. 27, 2008) — The National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) recently named its funded and unfunded consumer liaison representatives for 2008. Ten of the funded consumer representatives participated in the program in 2007, while seven are new to the NAIC program. “Consumer protection is one of the most important goals of the NAIC,” said Wisconsin Insurance Commissioner Sean Dilweg, who is chair of the NAIC's Consumer Board of Trustees. “The consumer liaison representatives play an important role in helping improve the insurance regulatory system by providing consumer views.” Established in 1992, the program promotes consumer interaction with the NAIC’s Members, the insurance industry and interested parties through the individuals’ dedication and commitment to serving the public interest.
