Personal Lines Market Regulatory Framework (EX) Working Group

Speed to Market Task Force

The Personal Lines Market Regulatory Framework Working Group is charged by the Speed to Market (EX) Task Force with presenting a recommendation related to the personal lines regulatory framework to the Property and Casualty Insurance (C) Committee by the 2007 Summer National Meeting so the committee can complete its work on revisions to the NAIC model rating law(s). The June 2007 deadline will not be met. Additional work is required.

Two drafts of the Personal Lines Market Regulatory Framework white paper appear below. The May 24 draft shows changes made during conference calls and during the working group interim meeting August 28-29. The August 28 version is a clean copy with line numbers. To submit comments, reference the line numbers from the August 28 draft clear copy and show recommended changes in text. General comments without specific suggested language changes will not be accepted at this time. Please submit comments by close of business Friday September 14, 2007 to Eric Nordman at enordman@naic.org and copy to Pam Simpson, psimpson@naic.org.

A conference call will be scheduled after the 2008 NAIC Spring National Meeting to discuss the revised draft. If you wish to submit written comments, please limit them to the four sections that have changed. Written comments should be submitted by April 18, 2008.
