The Producer Licensing (EX) Working Group met June 14, 2009.
During this meeting, the Working Group:
- Received an update on the State Licensing Handbook. The handbook has been shipped to half of the state insurance departments; the remaining states will receive their copy within the week.
- Received an update on the NAIC Uniform Application revision. The applications will be discussed at the Producer Licensing Task Force meeting June 15.
- Discussed comments received on the Uniform Guidelines Background Check Review draft document. The Working Group will post a second draft and meet by conference call to discuss.
- Discussed the Limited Lines Charge. The Working Group reviewed the comments received from regulators and industry representatives. The Working Group will meet by conference call to complete the definition of ancillary line, the licensing requirements of individuals selling insurance products and discuss fingerprinting of limited lines.
- Discussed CE issues, specifically the comments received on the guidelines for online CE courses and revisions to the CER Form. The Working Group will schedule a conference call to discuss and finalize the draft document and any revisions to the CER Form.
- Received an update from NIPR regarding a request to capture producer e-mail addresses. The Working Group made a motion for NIPR to capture the e-mail address during the address change request process. NIPR will send the state a transaction with the change, and the state will accept and send the transaction back to NIPR. NIPR will create a process to store the correct e-mail address.
Action Items:
The Working Group made a motion for NIPR to request producer e-mail addresses during the address change request process. NIPR will send the states a transaction with new information, and the state will accept and send back to NIPR for information to be stored. |
