Fall 2009 Meeting Summaries Index

The Large Deductible Study Implementation (C) Working Group of the Workers’ Compensation (C) Task Force did not meet this quarter. Through correspondence, the Working Group conducted the following activities:

  • The Regulatory Framework (B) Task Force continues to review the latest draft Third-Party Administrator Guidelines in regard to health insurance changes from that of the current Third-Party Administrator Statute (#90). Once the Task Force review has been completed, a review of the revised guidelines will be conducted by both the Working Group and the Producer Licensing (EX) Task Force. The draft guidelines are being developed by the Working Group to eventually replace the current Third-Party Administrator Statute in order to add workers’ compensation and to provide updates which would entail a few changes pertaining to health insurance.
  • Discussions occurred with a subgroup of the Casualty Actuarial and Statistical (C) Task Force regarding the basis of various workers’ compensation assessments, as the use of State Page direct written premiums will fail to fully recognize the exposure and costs generated by large-deductible policyholders. It is anticipated that this work will be completed by the Winter National Meeting and referred back to the Working Group at that time.

Minutes are available approximately two weeks after the meeting concludes.

Minutes are available free for meeting attendees using the User ID and Password supplied by the NAIC. Members may access minutes via StateNet. Non-attendees and those requiring minutes from previous meetings, may purchase the Proceedings of the NAIC through the NAIC Store.
