The Executive (EX) Committee met Sept. 22, 2009.

During this meeting, the Committee:

  • Adopted minutes from its Aug. 24 meeting and Aug. 3 electronic vote.
  • Adopted the report of the Sept. 21 joint meeting of the Executive Committee and Internal Administration (EX1) Subcommittee.
  • Adopted typographical corrections to the March 2009 amended NAIC bylaws.
  • Adopted model law development requests for:
    • Amendments to Long-Term Care Insurance Model Act (#640)
    • Amendments to Insurance Holding Company System Regulatory Act (#440)
    • Amendments to Insurance Holding Company System Model Regulation with Reporting Forms and Instructions (#450)
  • Adopted its task force and working group reports: AIG Managing Task Force; Climate Change and Global Warming Task Force; Government Relations Leadership Council; International Insurance Relations Leadership Group; Military Sales Working Group; Producer Licensing Task Force; SVO Initiatives Working Group; Solvency Modernization Initiative Task Force; and Speed to Market Task Force.
  • Approved the formation of a Broker Compensation (EX) Task Force and a Long-Term Care (EX) Task Force.
  • Adopted its 2010 charges.
  • Received quarterly reports on model law development efforts for the following:
    • Amendments to Standard Nonforfeiture Law for Life Insurance (#808)
    • Amendments to Standard Valuation Law (#820)
    • Amendments to Suitability in Annuity Transactions Model Act (#275)
    • Amendments to Annuity Disclosure Model Regulation (#245)
    • Amendments to Model Regulation Permitting the Recognition of Preferred Mortality Tables for Use in Determining Minimum Reserve Liabilities (#815)
    • Amendments to Nondiscrimination in Health Insurance Coverage in the Group Market Model Regulation (#107)
    • Amendments to Small Employer Health Insurance Availability Model Act (#118)
    • Amendments to Individual Health Insurance Portability Model Act (#37)
    • Amendments to Long-Term Care Insurance Model Regulation (#641)
    • Amendments to Model Regulation to Implement the NAIC Medicare Supplement Insurance Minimum Standards Model Act (#651)
    • Amendments to Risk-Based Capital (RBC) for Health Organizations Model Act (#315)
  • Received the report of the NIPR Board.
  • Received the report of the SERFF Board.
  • Received the report of the IIPRC.
