Eric moves to this permanent position after serving as an NAIC consultant for the residential mortgage-backed securities (RMBS) project since 2009. Eric also consulted for the Wisconsin Office of the Commissioner of Insurance regarding structured finance instruments for the rehabilitation of Ambac Assurance Corporation since 2010. He testified before Congress about certain rating practices at his prior employer, Moody’s. Eric served more than eight years with Moody’s, where he rated numerous credit derivative transactions; was Team leader for asset-backed securities (ABS) collateralized debt obligations (CDO) and managed the Moody’s derivative analytics platform; managed more than twenty analysts in the US Derivatives Group; and was Head of Methodology for Structured Finance valuations, supervised Moody’s Evaluations Inc (MEI) as its Chief Operating Officer, and provided company-wide seminars on lessons learned from the credit crisis. He also worked at Lehman Brothers, MBIA Insurance Corporation, Merrill Lynch and Goldman Sachs. Eric’s experience has granted him extensive expertise with structured finance instruments.
Eric obtained his BS in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Southern California; a Juris Doctor from the New York University School of Law; and MS (Statistics) from New York University Stern School of Business.
